NEW SHOW!
A show has been added to our schedule. Thanks to Debra from Hardcore Promotions for hooking us up to play at the Rock & Roll Hotel in DC. UPDATE
Thanks to everyone who came out, bands that played, Strasburg Theater for letting us play there and everyone else who supported, sponsored or donated for this past Sunday's Benefit show for Zander Pifer.Moving forward we are going to continue writing and preparing for the studio time that we keep talking about that was delayed when Jonathan joined the band. We want to write new songs with him and polish some of the older ones.We hope to hit the studio early next year. We're still unsure whether we'll be taking this time off from shows completely or not so please keep checking back or join our mailing list for up to date info on what's going on in our world.

ZANDER FOUNDATION BENEFIT CONCERT
We're putting together a benefit show for a guy that Jed works with. His son, Zander, was born with a digestive system disorder that has led to other disorders and is now going to require surgery or medical treatment. We're trying to do our part to raise a little money because every little bit helps out so much.The show is November 12th at the Strasburg Theater with a bunch of talented and diverse bands from Idle Ride to Stuck In Kaos! Check out our shows page, where a flyer has been posted with more info on Zander and what this show is really about. If you'd like to help out by passing those out that'd be greatly appreciated! NEED YOUR VOTES!
We got back from our weekend in DC and had a blast playing in the Bodog Battle of the Bands second round that you guys helped us get into! There was a bunch of talent at this show which made it out to be a very tight competition. We met a few new fans and met some cool new bands that we may be hooking up shows with in the future! Unfortunately, we didn't place first or second but have the chance to move on to the third round as a wildcard band! NEW BASS PLAYER !
First off we really want to thank Bryan Jackson for helping us out a bit on bass as we needed him. It was fun brother...we'll be out there playing shows with Stuck In Kaos so we'll be partying it up again together real soon.It's our pleasure to announce and welcome Jonathan Depool into our crazy world as our permanent bass player. He's from Harrisonburg, VA, was formerly the frontman for a band called Seventeen Dead and has been playing bass since August of 2005 (although if you heard him play you wouldn't know that it's only been a little over a year).Hope to have alot of exciting new things in the works as we move forward. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for new shows and new songs!!

BODOG BATTLE OF THE BANDS!
Ok. As we said before we have advanced to the second round of the massive Bodog Battle of the Bands competition. We are scheduled to play a show on October 15th at the DC9 Nightclub in Washington, DC. Bryan Jackson from Stuck In Kaos will be helping us out yet again on bass. We were given tickets to sell, which have voting ballots on the back of each ticket. We're going to need everyone's help to pack that place with Tapered Mind fans and to rack up those votes to move on. HIATUS
We'll be going on a little hiatus for awhile as we look for a bass player and continue to write new material.We may still be participating in the Bodog Battle of the Bands so stay tuned for that info as we finalize the details.Thanks for everyone's support!

SHOW COMING UP
Well, after we decided to part ways with our bass player we were offered a show up at The Silo in Reading, PA on August 25th. Not wanting to pass up this opportunity to break into the infamous Pennsylvania music scene we have agreed to play this show with the help of Bryan Jackson from Stuck In Kaos to fill in on bass for one show before we go on our hiatus to search for our permanent bass player. This show is going to kick major ass! Stuck In Kaos and local PA favorites Spit Can will join us!Check our shows page or click on the calendar on our homepage for details.

LOOKING FOR BASS PLAYER
As of today we are without a bass player.We've decied to part ways with Josh Hamm. He will be missed and will always be remembered as one of the ones who helped start this all. This leaves us with quite a huge void and we are wasting no time in our search to find a replacement so we can move forward with our goals.

BOOTCAMP
Ok...First and foremost we need to say thanks to every single one of you who went to our Bodog Music Profile and voted for us. Because of you we are moving from our 'Earn Your Stripes' status (online voting) to 'Bootcamp' status! Meaning, Tapered Mind is moving on to the next round of this huge Battle of the Bands competition for a chance to win a million dollar recording deal!The next round is an actual LIVE show in the Washington, DC area (40 bands per major city moved on to this round and will be playing 4 shows with 10 bands each). Ballots at the show will contribute to judging winners advancing to the next round so we'll need your votes at the show! (3 bands per show advance - 12 out of the 40).Show dates have yet to be set but we wanted to give a heads up to everyone and to say thank you for your help.We'll be announcing our show as soon as we find out.

A Freakin' Update!!
Ok...so it's been a while! The good news is we're still at it. Writing our asses off so that we can prepare for our studio time coming up. The bad news is, obviously it's a slow, long process to write material that we feel confident in and songs that we feel we have no excuses for when we hand that new demo out. Hopefully there will be interest in this thing when we get it finished and hopefully it'll be well worth the wait.Now for a few cool announcements. We were asked to put together a one minute loopable music clip that plays on a website for Ladykiller Designs out of Front Royal, Virginia. They are a true automotive restoration and customization shop. Please check it out. It's a one minute clip of one of the songs from the upcoming demo called 'ROT'.Also...we are actually going to play a show! It's a show we played last year and had an amazing time at so we couldn't pass it up. Hopefully we'll be playing some new songs that day. The show is on July 8th. Check our shows page for details.

March Show Cancelled
Apparently the benefit show that was supposed to be held on March 18th that we were playing has been cancelled. After this weekend's show at Cookies we are going to put our shows on hold until we finish our demo. We are continuing to write our new material and should be ready to hit the studio hopefully by the summer. We may have a preview demo to hand out soon...we'll keep you updated. Thanks for your patience and your support!!!
